Your attic is a great way to start saving money. It's a fact that heat rises and when looking at adding insulation most people think of adding more to what they already have. If you have to add 6" of insulation to what you already have, that must mean that you're losing heat through the existing 6". So why would you want to put more of a material that only slows down heat loss/gain on top? Low-E installed in your interior walls provides a radiant barrier, vapor barrier, and gives your Virginia Beach house an increased r-value all in one! You can run Low-E across the face of your studs or tab it in, either way you're going to get a very energy efficient design.

When people think of a roofing underlayment they most likely will picture asphalt felt paper. HOUSEWRAP

A pure aluminum facing is heat bonded to one or both sides of closed cell polyethylene foam, then the product is pin perforated. This results in a housewrap that acts not only as a superior air infiltration barrier, effectively sealing up cracks or gaps in the external sheathing, but it also adds insulation to the exterior of the home blocking up to 97% of radiant heat. This results in better year round efficiency and comfort levels. This product is available in 4' x 125' rolls that weigh only about 20lbs, 5’ product is available through special order. Installation is a breeze, using only a staple gun and razor knife.
CRAWL SPACE
Low-E can be used under your floor in a crawlspace to stop any air infiltration and add high insulating value to your floors. In a crawlspace application Low-E can achieve as high as an R-20. Low-E will not mold, mildew or absorb moisture, so once it's installed there is virtually no maintenance involved.
In areas where flooding is a problem Low-E will eliminate the concern of your insulation system performing below average.
